The IEEE Symposium on Visual Languages and Human-Centric Computing (VL/HCC) was established, based on the idea that visual representations would greatly benefit the task of computer programming and has become the premier international conference on VL research. Originally named "Symposium on Visual Languages", it has undergone several changes in response to the evolution of the field. Its present name, extended to Human-Centric Computing, reflects the expanded mission of the symposium: to support the design, formalization, implementation, and evaluation of computing languages that are easier to learn, easier to use, and easier to understand by a broader group of people.

We are looking for Satellite Workshop proposals covering related, specific topics. We expect proposals which cover the following details:

  •  Title of workshop

  •  workshop outline or preliminary call for paper (one page)

  •  tentative program committee

  •  planned submission selection process

  •  format of submissions

  •  format of workshop (1/2 day, full day)

  •  estimation of number of participants (between 15 and 40 persons)

  •  short bios of organizers (including contact addresses)

  •  possible sponsors for workshop

 The deadlines are as follows:

  •  February 20th, 2005:  deadline for proposals

  •  March 6th, 2005: notification of acceptance

  •  mid of April , 2005: final call for paper

  •  mid of June 2005:  submission deadline

  •  end of August 2005: final papers

Preliminary proceedings of workshop contributions will be copied by the conference organizers and distributed at the conference site. An electronic postworkshop publication in ENTCS is considered (depending on the topic of the proposed workshop).
